The folks at Hicken got drawn into a new build ROC complaint against our GC / builder as they were the contracted sub for our home. They were 1 of half a dozen subs that the builder threw under the proverbial bus for issues many were not directly responsible for and that ultimately resulted in a 303 page (!) ROC issued Citation and Complaint against the builder. Through all of this (including my being less than courteous / professional with their people at times out of frustration over the whole ordeal), EVERY SINGLE PERSON we interacted with from technicians to the owner remained professional and genuinely wanted to see us happy (even if their work may not have been an actual causation of an issue)! They were VERY responsive with excellent communication and worked long past the deadlines to make us happy. We subsequently had an equipment related issue just a few weeks ago before welcoming guests for a wedding (almost 2 years after close) and they went ABOVE & BEYOND to get us up and running before the guests arrived. Out of the whole group of subs / trades involved in issues with our home, the Hicken team was 1 of 2 (out of the 6 involved) that truly cared. Shawn and Gio came to diagnose an issue with my heat pump, they listened to me describe the issue and within a couple of minutes of me just describing the issue, they had diagnosed it and know how to fix it. The best part was since I'm a part of their membership, I didn't have to pay for the diagnosis and fix since it didn't require replacement parts. Shawn has come to my house to do seasonal tune-ups and is my favorite technician from Hicken. Shawn warned me that I would likely need a new unit in the next 6-12 months and explained to me the reasons why it will need to be replaced in a way that I could understand as a non-hvac professional. Lastly, he gave me a rough ballpark estimate of the cost to replace my unit so I can start planning for the large expenditure in advance.

So thankful for the whole team at Hicken Air. We are away from our winter home right now, but have guests visiting our house in Mesa. When they arrived the A/C was not working. The couple have 2 babies and 2 teenage children. The house was 38 degrees for two days! Where do I begin? Summertime brought the first heat, for the first time ever our unit kept throwing the breaker. I called Hicken Air, been working with them as far back as I can remember, I think they’ve been in the valley for 15 years or so. First guy I talked to was Shawn H. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable, likable and very professional. Shawn quickly knew we’d need eyes on the unit so he wasted no time and sent out Jeremy. No nonsense kinda guy. Professional, courteous and knows his stuff. The diagnosis…terminal. Top brass at Hicken Air sprang into action wasting no time in finding the best price for me making me and my wife feel like we were the only family in the valley. When I received the quote, I did my research and found I couldn’t come close ANYWHERE ELSE. Not that I would have, it’s just prudent to check. This morning Daniel (apparently one of several amongst their staff) knocked on my door EXACTLY on time. Introduced himself and his team and promptly went to work. Like a fine oiled machine the crew worked flawlessly timing their readiness to the Crane’s arrival to the minute. Out with the old, in with the new, like a ballet. I am SO impressed with this company. In this day and age where doing the minimum seems like the best you can get, it’s nice to see old school everything play out in front of my eyes. Thank you guys. This experience has been restorative and therapeutic for my hopes in the future of business enterprise in metro Arizona.

We came home to a hot house the other day and immediately called Hicken Air. It was over 110 degrees outside. There was a little difficulty finding someone to come out that night, but Kyle came to the rescue. The fan and compressor were both unresponsive. Kyle found a spent fuse, then troubleshooted in the attic and outside and located a defect in the contactor. 10 minutes after finding the issue, we had cold air! We appreciate the quick response and dedication to solving the problem so we did not have to spend the night elsewhere.

We had recently renovated and the tech, Tyler, found a ton of drywall dust and other debris inside the machinery. He cleaned it all out and now my system runs like a dream. As luck would have it, our AC gave out during arguably the hottest day of the year. We called Hicken Air last night based on a referral from a family member that had used them in the past. They set up an appointment for us for this morning. Brett and Kyle showed up at their quoted time. They were friendly, professional, and explained everything step by step. (Fingers crossed we never have to see them again....) But if we ever have AC problems again in the future, we will be sure to call Hicken! Thank you!

UPDATE: The same night I wrote this review my husband received a call from a lady at the company(I’m not sure what her name was) but as soon as she got wind of what happened, things got resolved very fast. The next day a technicians came out and was very nice. He was out here for awhile, he recharged it and did some other things but that night it still was blowing hot air. Next day 2 other techs came, replaced the air filter, tested the air and turned out it needs a small part replaced. Everyone we dealt with from the lady to the techs were so friendly and professional. We called this company to come repair our AC, they said they would be here yesterday between 4-7pm and no show no call. My husband called them today and they said they would be here between 1-3pm. Well 3pm came around and still no one showed up so my husband called and the guy says he is running late…..2 hours later and again no show no call and they don’t answer when I call and the operator keeps hanging up on my husband. Save your $ and time and go with another company who will appreciate the business.

Had to use Hicken Air twice over the last two weeks, once because my rental AC went out and the other because our new house's AC went out. Both times Hicken Air was incredibly responsive and easy to work with, got people over immediately within 24 hours both times (especially when I explained I had a 1 year old in the house). Techs were both really nice even having to work in the 100+ heat and clearly have a lot of support. The staff at Hicken Air were very responsive and gave me a prompt appointment to come examine the problem. The technician (David C.) arrived on time, was very professional and pleasant, and did a thorough review. He coordinated with everyone including his coworkers, the manufacturer, the leasing company, and even got a crane to come over to install a new unit a little later the same day. The condenser fan went out on our A/C on a 115° day and Shawn arrived on time (3:15pm) and replaced it. The AZ heat can be murder on A/C units. Unfortunately, the replacement was defective (no one's fault) and after an hour it stopped working. By now it was 7:00pm. I texted Shawn and gave him the bad news, and he could have easily said I'll be back in the morning, but he didn't. He turned around and came straight back and replaced it again! He stayed to make sure it was working properly and didn't leave until nearly 10:30pm! Great customer service, a good attitude (with a smile), and completing the job so my family was comfortable. Thank you, Shawn...you're a lifesaver!!

Had the best experience with Hicken Air. Every time I called, the young lady who answers the phone, was very patient and understanding of my frustrations with my A/C not working properly. Tyler and Louis both came out on separate occasions, and were extremely friendly, explaining what they were doing to try to fix my A/C. When it was determined that the unit needed to be replaced on a Thursday morning, Hicken Air had an installation scheduled for 2 days later, Saturday. Johnny came out and took about 5-6 hours to replace all aspects of the unit, in the attic and in the backyard. I couldn't even tell he had been there when he left, he cleaned up so well when he was done. He also made sure that he checked the air flow in all the vents and re-routed the air flow as needed so that the rooms were all getting air now. On the last day of our vacation our condensers both failed. The home was at 99 degrees when we arrived at 5 PM. The technician was at our home within an hour and was able to temporarily get one of the condensers working until a new unit could be installed. Very professional. For the first time since the home was built in 2004, we have a unit that his efficient and quiet. I have used hicken air once before and did have some issues regarding tech showing up three hours early for a scheduled appt time. But they made up for this bad experience greatly yesterday. My ac went out night of 7/3 and yvonne handled my urgent request after hours and tech came out on the holiday. Yvonne gave me status of tech arrival and tech was even able to make it to me before scheduled window. Tech called to let me know when en route and gave realistic time frame of repair. Very happy and grateful.

Service was great! Scheduling was easy and quick. On the day of service, the tech was on time and professional. He checked and tested all points on our A/C unit, and made a few recommendations to keep it running at high efficiency. Recommend them if you're looking for a check-up on your unit!

Hicken Air’s bid was lower than my next closest bid by $1,000 and several thousand less than the other bid I got. They were super fast getting it replaced and cleaned up nicely when they were done.
